Raised between the cultural warmth of Kelantan and the fast pace of Kuala Lumpur, Yap Wen Wei grew up grounded in resilience and diversity. Her path, however, wasn't without struggle. Facing self-doubt and societal pressures early in her pageantry journey, she chose to push past fear, turning uncertainty into quiet strength.
Now, as Miss International Malaysia 2026, Wen Wei sees her crown as a platform for purpose. For her, true beauty isn't defined by labels or stages, but by impact. Her mission is to empower young people—especially young girls—to break free from limiting beliefs, proving that no matter your background, your dreams are always within reach.
Every child deserves the opportunity to dream, learn, and build a brighter future. Yet across Malaysia, thousands of students in B40 communities face financial hardship, a lack of digital access, and limited mentorship that force them to abandon their education. As Miss International Malaysia 2026, I am using my platform to help bridge this digital divide. Partnering with the Sambong Future Foundation, I am committing my voice to equip these children with the tools and guidance they need to learn, innovate, and reach their fullest potential.
